What is bendy straws?

Bendy straws, also known as flexible straws, are a type of drinking straw that has a flexible section in the middle that allows the straw to be bent, often at a 90-degree angle. They were invented in the 1930s by Joseph B. Friedman, who noticed that his daughter was having difficulty drinking from a straight straw.

Bendy straws are typically made from plastic, such as polypropylene, and come in various lengths and diameters. They are widely popular and commonly used in homes, restaurants, hospitals, and schools. They are particularly useful for children, people with disabilities, and patients with medical conditions that make it difficult to drink from a straight straw.

However, bendy straws are not environmentally friendly and can contribute to plastic waste. As a result, reusable metal or silicone bendy straws have gained popularity as a more sustainable alternative.
